About

I’m a 20-something years old developer based in Bucharest, Romania, but I’m from Lucera, Italy. I proudly help people all around the world with WooCommerce at Automattic.

I started working for Automattic on July 2015 as WooCommerce Support Ninja in the Enterprise team and I immediately felt in love with the company and everything which is A8C.
I joined Automattic after the acquisition of WooThemes. You can find more about this here and here.

Before this, I was working with other companies as support technician and/or developer for WordPress themes/plugins and custom websites and softwares.
If you want to know more about what I do, check my LinkedIn page.

I love dancing standard, latin and caribbean dances and playing soft-air and video games. Also I like to read anything that is fantasy and sci-fi.

I like nature and having walks in the woods or in parks, I love travelling and see new things, taste new dishes, do something new and exciting.

I’m also a PS4 and PC player, you can find me with the username Gnabbo_N on PSN or Gnabbo on Steam. Add me!

Fun times

Since I like to travel, I visited some important places in my life, some thanks to Automattic, some with my friends.
The most far I went is San Francisco in November 2014 for the company WooTrip. It has been amazing and exciting because it was my first time in U.S. and the first time I met my colleagues.

Other places I visited in Italy are Sanremo, Roma, Napoli, Lecce, Bari, Acireale, Catania, Palermo, Latina, Torino, Milano and some that I do not remember now.

About places outside Italy, I visited Prague, Kraków, Moscow, Berlin, Oslo, Vancouver, Montreal, Park City and many others.

You should also know that I love carnival and Halloween. If you are curious to see some of my costumes visit my Instagram profile.

About my nicknames

My main nickname is SiR DanieL. It comes from Sir Daniel Fortesque, the protagonist of the video game for PSX MediEvil.

Sir Daniel Fortesque was way too long, so I started using only SiR DanieL (with capitals as it’s written here). But for my friends it was still to long, so they started calling me Daniel, which ended up being only D.

Another nickname I use when SiR DanieL is not available is Gnabbo. It’s origin is a bit long, it started being Pingu Gnap Gnap from the cartoon Pingu but again, this was too long, so I started using Gnappo.

Gnabbo comes from a pun with Gnappo and Noob. Noob in italian is translated with Niubbo and/or Nabbo. So my friends, to kid me, started using Gnabbo.

The third and last nickname I actually have is Mou which comes from Nicola Mou, by Kat!
